Team Garmin Tour of Olathe
The 40-miler was a great ride, with the course laid out by a couple of avid Garmin cyclists who work on the Edge design team. The course was mostly flats with some rolling hills near Hillsdale Lake south of Olathe, KS. The course files were sent to all registered riders beforehand if they wanted to load it to their Edge bike computer. Though the route was well marked on the roads, it was handy having turn-by-turn directions laid out on my Edge 705, along with projected finish time. Check out ride details in Garmin Connect.
Our ride had a tasty ending when all riders were treated to free burritos compliments of another Team Garmin sponsor, Chipotle. Though my riding buddies Beau, Ben and Scott, tried to taunt me into consuming the entire gigantic burrito, I kindly declined. That’s one feat I’d rather not claim. A big thanks to our friends at Chipotle for the warm welcome and hot food.
