The Bermuda Triple Crown Billfish Championship just celebrated its 10-year anniversary and, for the first time since the inception of the event, had its very first repeat winner: Team Fa-La-Me.

Of the three events that make up the Triple Crown (Bermuda Billfish Blast, Bermuda Big Game Classic and the Sea Horse Anglers Club Billfish Tournament), fifty different teams fished at least one of the tournaments with almost thirty teams participating in every leg.  Over the course of nine days of intense fishing, a total of 156 billfish were caught and released.

Team Fa-La-Me owner Frank Rodriguez and his crew had a strong second day in the Sea Horse tournament.  As a result, Fa-La-Me was propelled into the lead of the Sea Horse and ultimately gained them the win of, not only the tournament, but the overall Triple Crown.  With a total of 3,300 total points, they edged out second place by a mere 27 points.

On board, Fa-La-Me has a GPSMAP 7212 and a GSD 26, both of which helped show the crew incredible resolution at greater depths.  And since they won the tournament with Garmin electronics, they also won our Garmin Grand, $1,000 prize along with our VIRB Elite action cameras.

What's more, Fa-La-Me now has bragging rights that no one fishing the Billfish Triple Crown has ever had: repeat champions!  For more information on the tournament and more details about Fa-La-Me's win, visit the Bermuda Triple Crown's website.  Best of luck the rest of the year, Fa-La-Me!
