Take your nüvi with you!
Every day we hear about how popular the nüvi is with families, business travelers, busy parents, college students … and, unfortunately, some thieves. A story out of Baltimore discussed the problems one neighborhood is facing with GPS devices being stolen from vehicles. As with any portable electronic device, GPS units can be easy prey.
But there are simple solutions. The most important — and easiest to remember — is this: Take it with you. The nüvi is remarkably small for being packed so full of helpful information. About the size of a deck of cards, you can easily fit the nüvi in your pocket or purse. Another reason not to leave it in your car — the nüvi’s pedestrian mode helps you navigate the sidewalks and find popular points of interest.
Other tips include taking down the mount and wiping away the suction marks, recording your model and serial number.
