State Adventure: Utah
The state of Utah is widely known for it’s natural diversity and is generally recognized for being the picture-perfect playground for many outdoor activities. Whether it’s hiking at Zion National Park, snowboarding some of the best powder on the planet, or mountain biking trails in Canyonlands National Park, the Beehive State will not let you down when it comes to fantastic outdoor recreation.
Angels Landing in Zion National Park
This hiking trail is not for those afraid of heights. Angels Landing Trail is one of the most well-known and exhilarating hikes in the Zion National Park system. To reach the breathtaking views from the top, one must walk a strenuous 5-mile hike with the final stretch being the most difficult and daunting. Near the end of the trek you’ll be lead through extremely narrow rock paths with rough chains and ladders to grasp. Angels Landing is a prime spot to adventure, get your adrenaline pumping, and capture some unreal photos.
Astronomy at Bryce Canyon National Park
For you astronomers out there, this place is a stargazer’s paradise. It’s nicknamed “the dark side” and for good reason. Bryce Canyon National Park is one of the best locations on the planet to see our universe and the area’s reputation is attributed to its high elevation and the distance from the pollution caused by major cities. The park is home to many hiking trails, limitless photo opportunities, and hosts an annual astronomy festival for anyone to experience. You can now harness the beauty of the night sky right on your wrist. The fēnix 3 app, Skywatch, is now in the Connect IQ store.
Mountain Bike the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands National Park
This is not a trail for the inexperienced rider. The 100-mile trail can take 3-4 days to finish, but will leave you with countless memories of natural beauty. If you were to finish the entire trail, you would encounter the Colorado and Green rivers, numerous colorful slot canyons along with plenty of wildlife. The White Rim Trail loops around the Island in the Sky area of the Canyonlands National Park and offers bountiful views of different types of terrain. The White Rim trail is an unspoiled setting for some serious endurance mountain biking and a great location to capture your adventure with our action camera the VIRB XE.
