Florida

With 161 state parks, pristine beaches, and awesome year round weather; Florida is the perfect place for outdoor adventure. Florida is the southernmost US state and is home to warmer weather activities like surfing, bike riding, kayaking, and more.  The Sunshine State is usually known for its major attractions like Disney World and Universal Studios, but if you look beyond the touristy areas, Florida is home to immense outdoor beauty and adventure.

Everglades National Park

Everglades

Better bring your VIRB XE action camera to Everglades National Park, because this place is an adventurer’s dream. As a whole it spans around 1.5 million acres and protects the habitat for rare and endangered species like the manatees, crocodiles, and the elusive Florida panther. The Everglades are home to numerous canoe and hiking trails, exciting airboat tours, amazing wildlife watching, camping, and more. Everglades National park is a must see for anyone who seeks outdoor leisure.

Exploring Amelia Island

Amelia

The Sea Islands are a chain of tidal and barrier islands along the coast of the South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Among the southernmost of the Sea Islands, Amelia Island’s seashore delivers an abundance of adventures for anyone, like scallop digging, snorkeling, surfing, and horseback riding. Amelia Island is home to 13 miles of beautiful beaches, abundant native wildlife, and pristine waters. This barrier island is the perfect place to explore, take photos, and just relax.

Diving The Great Florida Reef

Reef

The Great Florida Reef is a one-of-a-kind living coral barrier reef in the continental United States and is the third largest coral barrier reef system found in the entire world. The reef is about 4 miles wide and extends some 170 miles. Around 1,400 species of marine plants and animals live on the Florida Reef and the most spectacular sights are found near Key Largo and Elliot Key, where both islands help protect the reef system from drastic change and pollution. The Great Florida Reef is an unspoiled environment that’s prime for scuba, snorkeling, and embracing our planet’s marine wildlife.

Whether you’re looking to surf, snorkel, horseback ride, or just kick back, the Sunshine State has it all. Next time you’re feeling the need for some open-air, remember that the state of Florida is packed with beautiful sights and outdoor recreation.
