Arizona

Brilliant sunshine and delightful weather make Arizona an impeccable playground for any outdoor endeavor. Whether it’s hiking, biking, or camping along Arizona’s magnificent rivers and mountain ranges, there’s always something new to experience in the Arizona outdoors. This southwestern state is most widely known for being the home of the Grand Canyon, but there is so much more for you to experience.

Hiking the Havasupai Trail to the Havasu Falls

Havasu

Whether you ride a bike, horseback, or hike, this 8-mile adventure can be pretty difficult, but definitely worth the experience. The trailhead begins at the Hualapai Hilltop and descends into the Grand Canyon, which will force you to take in the remarkable sights that wait ahead. Once in the canyon, you follow a dirt trail that leads to two small bridges. Once you arrive at the bridges, you are on your way to ultimately encountering one of the most beautiful places on earth. With unreal turquoise swimming holes and 100 ft. high waterfalls plunging into the pools, this is a must see for everyone.

Mountain Bike Trails in Prescott

Prescott

You better have your Garmin Edge and VIRB XE handy for this place. In the relatively small northern Arizona city of Prescott, mountain biking is life. In the Prescott area alone, there are over 250 miles of mountain biking trails from the easy smooth terrain, to the extremely difficult trails for those experienced mountain bike riders. Through these trails you can find beautiful streams and rivers, along with steep rock faces from the Bradshaw Mountains. The city of Prescott has been put on the map as one of the best places in America to ride bikes so if you are ever in the area, you shouldn’t resist this two-wheeled temptation.

Chiricahua National Monument

Chiricahua

This infamous area is where Native American legend, Geronimo and the Apaches, battled the U.S. army. Covering almost 12,00 acres, this labyrinth of volcanic rock peaks lie in the southeast corner of the Grand Canyon State. Today, the monument is home to many prominent trails that are perfect for hiking, biking, and countless photo opportunities. Another bonus of adventuring in the Chiricahua area is the abundance of large birds in the area like bald eagles and prairie falcons. The Chiricahua National Monument is not only a great spot for outdoor activities, it’s a tremendous place to experience rare wildlife and where major historical events took place.

The state of Arizona is a superior location to explore the outdoors and to take in some of our planet’s largest natural marvels. Next time you’re thinking of getting away for an outdoor adventure, remember that Garmin has a wide variety of products that will certainly enhance your outdoor experience and help keep you safe at the same time.
