Spring Running Events Are Just Around The Corner– Are you Ready?
It’s crazy to think that over a month has gone by since the holiday season, and we are now 11 weeks away from the Garmin Marathon and even fewer from Boston. To those who are already putting in the miles and pounding the pavement, way to go! Many times, the toughest part about a training plan is simply taking the first step out the door and fully committing to it. For those who have not yet picked your spring races or committed to a plan, we have some great options for you to check out. Simply log into your free Garmin Connect account and get instant access to training plans designed by industry professionals for many distances and abilities (beginner, intermediate and advanced)– and send them directly to your compatible Garmin device.
If you are looking to put a race on your calendar and to have something to work towards, check out this list of races. Once you’ve picked your race(s) and plan, leave zero room for excuses and let the world know! Send a tweet or Facebook post stating what race/event you are training
for and include what Garmin product will help you get there, with the hash tag, “#lovemygarmin”.
Here is mine, “No excuses, I am training for the @garmin Marathon on April 20th with my Forerunner 10 #lovemygarmin“.
Speaking of the Forerunner 10, we just released an update for this amazingly simple GPS running watch– which by the way was awarded the Runner’s World Gear of The Year for 2012! In addition to viewing
your time, distance, calories and current pace you can now choose what type of pace you see. Choices are current pace, average lap pace (average pace in the current lap) and average pace (average pace for the duration of your current activity). We have even added the ability to view lap speed and average speed for those of you who prefer speed over pace. As a reminder, the Forerunner 10 records all your personal bests right on the watch–and does so before you’ll have caught your breath.
