Professional Triathlete Jenny Fletcher “Loves her Garmins”
While competing in races I tend not to focus on heart rate and do not wear a monitor, however when I am training I always have it on!
After the dismount it was time to press start on FR60 for the run leg of my race. During a race, I am typically only concerned with my splits per mile, so FR60 is a great tool for how I use it. It is lightweight and small and gave me all the info I needed for the first race of the season. As I get further into the season I will probably change watches or just add the footpod onto my shoe so I can monitor the average speed/pace and speed/pace I am running. This can always help when you are needing motivation to run faster.
I am in love with ALL the Garmin products. Often on training runs, I also use the Forerunner 310XT. It gives ALL the info I could possibly want while I'm doing training runs, bike workouts, or even Bricks (biking then transitioning into the run). A lot of people love to use this device for racing as well. For sure for longer races I'd probably use the Forerunner 310XT, but for now I'm happy with the FR60.
Until next time…. Happy Training!
