Peg’s Posts: check out the Garmin Connect calendar

Beach runner-sm Who here likes to keep score? Whether it’s adding up your weekly miles, comparing notes with your training partner or seeing what you did over the past month or year, this exercise can keep your training on track and be a source of motivation. If you’re using any Garmin fitness device (Edge, Forerunner or FR60 series), you can use Garmin Connect to record your activities, share with others, set goals and much more. If you don’t already have a Garmin Connect account, stop reading right now and get yours set up. It’s free, it’s easy and you can get started right here.

Calendar Once you’ve run up some miles and minutes and uploaded to Garmin Connect, your activities appear like magic on the calendar page. Complete with color coding, icons (representing the activity type), start time and distance (if GPS was on). Weekly totals are shown on the right. If you’re using Garmin Connect to create and track goals, that info shows up on the Calendar page as well. It’s a great snapshot view of what you’ve accomplished in that time period. You can even manually add activities from the Calendar page. You would use this option for times when you didn’t have your Garmin device recording the activity. To manually add an activity from the Calendar page, just hover over the plus sign on the day of the activity you wish to add and select Activity from the drop down. Enter the information and save. The new activity will appear on your Calendar and in your activities list.

Calendar with act preview You can also preview activities from the Calendar page. Hover over any activity on your Calendar, then click the magnifying glass for a summary of data.
