New at OpenCaching.com: New editing options and photo-friendly geocoin winners
TeamVoyagr at CacheMania.com may have said it best: “The folks over at Garmin have not been idle.” In his post titled “OpenCaching.com continues to improve,” John from CacheMania shares one of our latest updates: “It was announced yesterday that you can now edit your logs on opencaching.com. Now you can delete and edit your logs.” And if you’re a cache creator, you can delete logs on caches you own (helpful in case of spoilers or spam).
Meanwhile, Ron from OXCacher.com shares his perspective on the updates that have been rolling out – many of them in direct response to requests from the caching community:
“With the OpenCaching Team rolling out improvements every two or three weeks, regardless how large or small, indicates they are working toward improvement of the BETA version before introducing new features. I’m ok with that because I get to play while they sort out the development.”
And we even have proof that Ron has been “playing” as his was one of the many pictures submitted of caches created for OpenCaching.com as part of our recent geocoin giveaway.
These pictures represent the first batch of geocoin winners, who we’ll identify in next week’s post to keep the suspense going. Each winner will get two limited-edition GPSMAP 62 geocoins – one to keep and one to stash in a cache. And since we happened to find a few more coins in Jake’s desk, keep emailing us (geocaching@garmin.com) your pics of newly created caches at OpenCaching.com with your caching name and the OX code. If we have to, we’ll just send out Jake’s lunch containers as prizes.
