Mounting options exposed

Img_7331GPSMagazine recently put the spotlight on a rather important GPS accessory: the portable friction mount. After they took the mount for a ride around town (see picture to left), the guys found this mount to be a worthy alternative. As the Mag crew pointed out, there are several reasons folks opt to not have the common windshield mount. Whether local laws prohibit having anything mounted on your windshield, or if you’re looking for ways to deter thieves away from your vehicle, or maybe you’re just plain sick of the "ring-around-the-windshield" the mount can leave behind, we’ve got just the solution. The friction mount is bean-bag like, with a grip lining on the bottom that holds the device secure in a locked position. If you’re still not convinced this is the right mounting option for you, check out the entire review to see why having two mounting devices, is better than one!
