McLeod Consistent in Portugal, Germany Next
It’s often said that consistency is the key to success. Well, if there’s any truth to sentiment, Garmin pro Pete McLeod is on the right track. Earlier this month he captured his 3rd consecutive second-place finish at the Porto Red Bull Air Race, continuing his climb up the 2017 world championship standings.

McLeod’s current race form is by far the best of his young career. In addition to three consecutive runs into the Final Four, his qualifying consistency has been unmatched. He secured the coveted P1 position in qualifying for the 4th straight race. After head-to-head victories over Chilean Christian Bolton in the Round of 14, followed by Matthias Dolderer of Germany in the Round of 8, McLeod posted a Final Four time just 1/10th of a second slower than Porto’s ultimate winner Martin Sonka of the Czech Republic.

But as we mentioned before, consistency is key and the prized 12 points McLeod earned in Porto places him just four points behind Sonka in the world championship standings, with two races to go.
