Lucy’s Logbook: Fun times at the Women in Aviation conference

WAI5The 24th annual Women in Aviation conference was held in Nashville, Tennessee last week, and I was fortunate enough to attend on behalf of Garmin. Over the course of a few days, I met up with a few old professors, a former flight instructor, a previous student of mine, and my best friend. With the show season fast approaching, I am constantly reminded of how small of a community aviation really is!

It’s never surprising how so many of us often attend these air shows year-after-year. Whether they’re the largest show in the world or the small-town, fly-in pancake breakfasts, we all either plan to meet or meet by chance old friends with one commonality: a passion for aviation.

This probably goes without mentioning how important networking is within the aviation community. In the next several months, several airshows, tradeshows, and fly-ins will take place and Garmin will be there! I encourage any one of you to come up and talk to us, meet with us, check out our avionics and make a few Garmin connections! After all, we’re all just as passionate about aviation as you are!
