The Forerunner 405 has only been on the streets for a few months and our engineers have already rolled out a software update. To get the latest and greatest, go to updates and downloads on our Forerunner 405 web page. The update is free, and thanks to the 405’s wireless technology, this upgrade will cost only a few minutes of your time. If you’ve already paired your 405 with the Garmin ANT Agent application to wirelessly transfer your data, software updates are a cinch. Just plug in your ANT stick and it’ll search for your device. Once it finds your device, click the “update software” bar and ANT Agent takes it from there.

Changes to software version 2.20 include:
– added timeout setting to the Training Options menu that disables the automatic timeout to power save mode when the watch is in training mode
– changed all settings in the Training Options menu to be specific to the current sport mode setting (run or bike)
– made adjustments to instantaneous pace filtering
– calculate calories, averages and Virtual Partner time ahead/behind only when not auto paused
– added small navigation arrow on course timer page
