Jr. Gear Tester test drives Garmin products

100_1432_2For 11-year-old Junior Gear Tester, Tyler, backpacking and being outdoors is nothing new. After his dad got him started with it two years ago, Tyler has already hiked over 121 miles of the Ouachia Trail in Oklahoma and Arkansas. While Tyler is very good in school and sports, he says backpacking is what he enjoys the most!

Recently, Tyler went exploring with the popular Garmin handheld eTrex Legend Cx navigator and was kind enough to share his findings with us. "This GPS works great! I think the waypoints are convenient. If you ever forget where a hospital, or any type of business is, you can have it marked and find it. The graphics for the map are great; you can read the words and numbers clearly. The instructions were easy to comprehend- all I read was the first thirteen pages, and I knew how to use it. The eTrex Legend Cx is a handy GPS. Even an 11-year-old can use it!"

Stay tuned for more tales from the Jr. Gear Tester, as he takes out a GPSMap 60Cx on his next travels to the Pecos Wilderness in New Mexico!
