Jenna jets to Europe to race Hamburg and London World Champs

Jenna2009 Garmin-sponsored triathlete Jenna Shoemaker shares her training and racing experiences with the new Forerunner 110 sport watch, Edge 500 bike computer and Garmin Connect.

After a packed race schedule in June, it’s hard to believe that July is well underway. I’m now heading off to Europe to race in the Hamburg World Championship Series and the London World Championship Series events on the 18th and 24th respectively. Training has been going really well and I have finally adjusted to my running program. I got to spend some time down in Chula Vista at the Olympic Training Center with my running coach. It was great to have some one-on-one time with him and to really get thrown head-first into the new program. Having my Forerunner 110 to track my splits and share my data with my coach has been really important. The 110 also picks up GPS satellites SO fast, which cuts down on the procrastination time before the workouts! All of the changes have been an eye opening and very rewarding process so far. I look forward to making some really big gains when I get back from this next race block.

Take a look at Jenna’s Garmin Connect data from her June 27 race in Philadelphia where she placed 2nd — just 15 seconds behind the 1st place female and a full 5 minutes ahead of 3rd place. Jenna posted the fastest bike split by nearly a minute.
