Jake’s Journal: Piquing our interest on Pinterest

As the resident social media junkie, I get inspired as we explore new ways to strengthen the connections with our fans and customers. Facebook and Twitter are perfect channels for conversations, our blog helps us share news and updates with more context, and our YouTube channel has become a go-to resource for curious shoppers who want the next best thing to being able to try it before you buy it.

So you can imagine how excited I was when we recently launched our Pinterest page. Found at either garmin.com/pinterest or under GarminGPS at Pinterest.com, our boards feature the beautiful and inspiring imagery that embodies the active lifestyles that our colleagues and our customers all enjoy. As an avid runner, cyclist and hiker, I could stare at those pictures all day long and never lose interest. From pre-race stretching to pushing through the finish, I can relate to each person and situation pictured. And while I'm not a pilot, the aviation photos we've collected over the years are enough to offer an instant escape from the daily grind.

And speaking of getting away, just picturing gorgeous landscapes, the open water or long stretches of highway are the perfect antidote to a long day at the office as I'm transported to my favorite destinations. We've even dedicated an entire board to some of the fun we find on all of your pages, collectively called "As Seen Online."
