Give-a Garmin, Day 8
I remembered seeing power lines so I followed those for about 1/2 a
mile until we ran into an alligator infested overflowed swamp. We could
see cars on an interstate along the power lines. I finally looked at my
GPS and told it to reverse route. I only turned the GPS on after we
passed an important fork in the trail. I am very thankful I did that
because the native trail we knew was also home to Water Moccasins, HUGE
Diamondbacks, and alligators. We might not have came back home if we
took that trail in pitched black darkness. Then when we found the road
we headed home. This was not the only time my eTrex saved my life!
Thank you Garmin for having that great reverse route feature!
