While deer hunting in northern Minnesota on 11/12/05, I lost my GPS.  I thought my GPS III+ was gone for good.  Three of my hunting partners and I searched for two hours the next day without success. I endured good-natured ribbing about setting a waypoint to find it and my wife insisted I get a lanyard when I replaced it, which I did when I purchased a GPSmap 76S. This year while deer hunting on 11/11/06, I tried looking for it again but stopped after 20 minutes because I found it! After one-full-year laying in the Minnesota woods, there was mud and leaves frozen to it.  Once it warmed up, I opened the battery compartment removed the batteries and poured out the water.  I said to myself “That’s not good.”  After one-year in the woods, I figured a little drying time was in order.  I wiped out the residue in the battery compartment with Q-tips and left it at room temperature until 11/19/06.   I put in new batteries, turned it on, and it came up running without any problems! You have great products and I am sold on Garmin for life!
