Girls on the Run

If you’re a Runner’s World reader, you might have heard about the Girls on the Run International (GOTRI) founder, Molly Barker. Molly was honored as one of Runner’s World’s Heroes of Running for 2006. About 10 years ago, Molly, an accomplished runner and Ironman triathlete, decided that she wanted more from the sport than just self-fulfillment. Thanks to her influence and the efforts of coaches and other volunteers, Girls on the Run is showing thousands of girls around the world how to have fun on the run. For more info on Girls on the Run and to find out if there’s a chapter near you, visit their website. Lots of ways to get involved, from coaching to volunteering, fundraising or even starting a new chapter in your area.
