Bennett The world's best triathletes are converging on the Midwest this weekend to fight for the sport's largest-ever prize purse at the 2010 Hy-Vee ITU Triathlon Elite Cup in Des Moines, IA. Among them will be Garmin blog contributors Ben Collins and Jenna Shoemaker, as well as Greg and Laura Bennett (pictured here), who also treasure their Garmin fitness devices. "The Garmin 310XT has been absolutely brilliant for us both," Greg wrote to us recently. "Neither one of us like treadmills and I am not a fan of the track (although Laura doesn't mind it). Having the Garmin give us immediate and accurate feedback has been huge for some fantastic pace work without having to be in such a controlled dull environment. We both race with the 310XT in the longer events. The software is also
fantastic. So, I guess you could say we are big Garmin fans."

Well, the feeling is mutual, as we are big triathlon fans. And with the recent software update enhancing the open-water
capabilities for Forerunner 310XT
, Garmin is the go-to training tool for
triathletes in every stage of the race. We were thrilled last weekend when Garmin-sponsored Alistair Brownlee bounced back from injury and in his first race of the season won the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Madrid for the second year in a row. And we'll be cheering on all of the athletes – from amateurs to elites – this weekend as they enjoy some Midwestern hospitality and world-class competition.
