Garmin Pro Bill Dance opens Bass Pro Shops Megastore
On April 29th, 2015 Bass Pro Shops opened the doors to one of the largest retail stores in the world! The new 535,000 square foot megastore at Memphis’ Pyramid is a site to be seen. At it’s base, the store spans over a city block.
On hand to speak for the opening ceremony was legendary fisherman and Garmin pro Bill Dance. He expressed pure joy and is pleased to have this destination hotspot in his hometown. “This store is mind-boggling. You will see things you’ve never seen before in a sporting goods store.”
Prior to the grand opening, Bill did a sneak peek at this massive project. For a behind the scenes tour before the store was opened, you can watch Bill give you the full tour.
The facility boasts a 105-room hotel designed like a hunting lodge, bowling alley, archery and shooting ranges, and the tallest freestanding elevator in America, which takes visitors to a rooftop restaurant and observation deck. In addition, it holds 600,000 gallons of water features. The Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center, an interactive waterfowl and conservation experience, is one you won’t want to miss.
Outside of all of this, it has over 300,000 square feet of retail space. It features both Garmin hunting and fishing products to provide you with whatever you might need for your next outdoor adventure.
