Garmin Pilot Offers Enhancements to Android

Garmin is committed to improving every pilot’s flying
experience. We are also dedicated to our Android customers who utilize Garmin
Pilot
in their day-to-day flying adventures. Garmin has been listening to what
our Android customers want and we have delivered yet another round of
customer-requested features and integration we’re sure you’ll find valuable!

D2 Integration
Garmin D2 Pilot Watch 8

A premium GPS watch that was designed with aviators in mind,
our D2 Pilot Watch has the ability to wirelessly receive flight plans and
waypoint information from Garmin Pilot. To transfer flight plans and waypoints
to D2, the Pilot Watch must be put in sharing mode by pressing the orange key
and scrolling to ‘Share Data’ and then selecting ‘Garmin Pilot.’ Android
devices operating version 4.3 or higher can wirelessly connect with D2 by
selecting ‘Menu’ from the Active FPL page and then touching ‘Send to D2.’
Flight plan information is sent to D2 within seconds!

Proposed Routes

Activate last minute flight plan changes with ease by
receiving notifications of any changes to a filed flight plan. Once an alert
indicating an update is pending, pilots may easily update their existing flight
plan with ease. To enable Proposed Route Notifications, update your aircraft
information and select ‘Yes’ to ‘ATC Proposed Route Notifications.’

Route

Decoded TAFs (Terminal
Aerodrome Forecasts)

Right in line with the latest iOS update, Android offers
decoded TAF’s so pilots may review weather along their route of flight, even
easier. Decoded TAFs can be found several different places: in split screen
mode when selecting ‘TAF’s’ as a widget, from the radial menu on the moving map
page or within ‘Airport Information.’ Not only are the forecasts decoded, they
are color-coded to indicate VFR, MVFR, LIFR, or IFR conditions – now that’s
easy!

TAF

Stopwatch

Having a stopwatch in the cockpit is integral for any type of
flying. While in a hold, flying approaches, or simply for navigation purposes.
Easily keep time via the stopwatch function within Garmin Pilot, which is
conveniently displayed on the main header bezel. Start and stop the stopwatch
via the Tools menu.

These features are beneficial to any flight, whether you’re
on a standard, VFR $100 hamburger flight or on an IFR flight plan, shooting an
approach down to minimums. Regardless of the type of flying you’re doing, we’re
committed to our Android customer base. We encourage your feedback, and are
certain you’ll find Garmin Pilot to be a must-have in your cockpit!
