Garmin Offers New Upgrades to G1000-Equipped King Air Series Aircraft
We’re excited to offer our latest software update for G-1000 equipped King Air 200/250/300/350 aircraft, which brings a lot of enhancements and customer-requested features to this platform!
User-defined holds are now available to the King Air series, which offers pilots the option to create a holding pattern over an existing fix within the navigation database or over a user-defined waypoint. Unpublished holds or those assigned by ATC are even easier thanks to the latest software update!
In order to prepare owners and operators for NextGen, G1000-equipped King Air series aircraft have the opportunity to fly more efficiently with greater flexibility. Several new features fulfill some of the NextGen requirements, such as:
- Barometric Vertical Navigation (Baro-VNAV) approach capability
- FAA ADS-B Out Compliance
- Required Navigation Performance (RNP) capability that includes the ability to fly procedures with Radius-to-Fix (RF) segments
For operators conducting Search and Rescue (SAR) missions, the G1000 system may now automatically generate flight plans for three search patterns: Parallel Line Search, Expanding Square, and Sector Search patterns.
Approval for optional equipment to add even more functionality to every flight is now available and includes:
- GRS 7800 Attitude and Heading Reference (AHRS)
- GWX 70 solid state weather radar
- GTX 3000 transponder
- GTS 8000 traffic system
- GRA 5500 all-digital radar altimeter
The aircraft eligibility list for the G1000 upgrade has been expanded and now includes B200GT and B200CGT models and also all serial numbers for B200 and B200C models.
For current G1000 King Air owners and operators, the software is available now through an applicable Garmin Dealer. For additional information regarding equipment upgrades, contact a Garmin Authorized Dealer.
