Garmin marathoners run around the globe
Another Garmin runner, Kurt, decided to take a little trip for his first marathon. Make that his first non-trail marathon. Kurt is a member of the local Trail Nerds running club and has completed 50k races and other distances through mud, muck and treacherous terrain. So last summer when some buddies talked about signing up for the Dublin Marathon, Kurt was game. His buddies later bowed out, but Kurt stuck with his game plan and his training with Forerunner, which led him to a 3:26:12 finish. Most amazing is the post-race pic he sent, where he looked refreshed and ready to run another 26.2. We haven’t received a full post-race report from him, so maybe he did go back for more.
And speaking of amazing feats on two feet, our resident blogger and two-time marathoner Jake is about to go for #3 … just two weeks after completing his last marathon. Yep—Jake is headed for NYC this coming weekend for what he calls a 26.2-mile tour through the 5 boroughs. Stay tuned here for more news on the New York City Marathon in the coming days. If you’ll be there, we have a few compelling reasons for you to stop by the Garmin booth at the expo.
