Garmin GPS Units Help Save The Day!
In the small town of Stockton, WI, a Garmin GPS device can make a big difference. According to the Stevens Point Journal in Wisconsin, a Garmin StreetPilot unit was donated to the Stockton fire department, by a former firefighter who had previously used GPS.
For this fire department, the turn-by-turn detailed directions help a small department, such as theirs, help cover a large area. “What I like best is that it shows the details of the road: you can see upcoming hills, curves — the kind of stuff you can’t see on a map,” volunteer firefighter Greg Jones said. “It’s wonderful.”
Sometimes, Greg admits, there have been calls when the old-fashioned road maps have just not been enough. “When you get out into the real rural areas, there are some streets that aren’t marked,” he said.
Well Greg, the folks over here on our end are glad to hear that the StreetPilot can put an end to some of those worries for you and your fellow firefighters. Thanks for all that you do!
…And don’t forget we’re giving away a nüvi 200 this summer in our Big Summer Adventure contest! These guys in Stockton have a pretty good story!
