Garmin got me!
For marketer and technology connoisseur Amanda Bodak, taking a road trip with two kids, turned into a disaster when her on-line directions turned this trip from one hour, to two, with no shortcut in sight. Amongst the screaming, kicking kids who were teasing their mom, Amanda remembered a few Garmin advertisements that caught her eye. She writes in her blog that after seeing a magazine ad, then another, then another radio spot followed by something on the front page of a Circuit City Sunday paper insert, Amanda says Garmin did a heck of a job marketing to her. Specifically, after relating the perky, red-headed women in the advertisement, to a lady in between a lunch date, soccer game and then a trip to Nordstrom’s for holiday shopping, Amanda says Garmin got her!
