Garmin Connect: Meet our 2 billionth miler
Just a few days ago, Garmin Connect users and fans around the world were watching the site’s mileage counter speed toward another milestone — 2 billion miles of fitness and outdoor activities logged. One of those users, Irvin from British Columbia, just happened to be cranking out a 44-mile training ride with his Forerunner 910XT. When his watch wirelessly synced to our site to upload his ride later, he probably wasn’t expected to be our 2 billionth miler, but it turns out his upload was a winner. We caught up with Irvin, or Mr. 2B as he’s come to be known, and found out a little more about him and his training.
I am very excited and surprised to have been the 2 billionth mile logger! I have had my Forerunner 910XT since February and this was to replace the Forerunner 305 that I lost in a race. The best feature of the watch for me is the multisport function as this allows me to use it during my triathlon races. I love my 910XT and will always be a Garmin fan. This season I am racing a few half Ironmans. My next race, which will be my main one for the year, will be the Great White North Half Ironman in Stony Plain, Alberta.
We wish Mr. 2B all the best in his swim, bike and run training for his upcoming race. As a complement to his top-of-the-line multisport 910XT, his training tool box will soon include an Edge 800 bike computer with touchscreen operations, mapping and power compatibility. We have a feeling Mr. 2B will be logging many more miles to come and we’re happy to be his training partner wherever he rolls. Thanks to the rest of our Garmin Connect family for getting us to another milestone mile so quickly. Any predictions on when we’ll hit 3 billion?
