Garmin Aviation Training Team to Host Oshkosh Seminars

After successful inaugural training seminars at EAA Oshkosh AirVenture 2015, and a lot of positive feedback, we’re excited to announce the Garmin Pilot Training Team will be returning to Oshkosh this year to provide a series of seminars for our GTN touchscreen series and G500/G600 glass flight display operations.

This year, our team will be presenting three 1-day courses to explore the navigation and terminal procedure capabilities available on the GTN touchscreen series. These seminars use real-world scenarios to teach effective and efficient flight operations, with an emphasis on flight planning and instrument procedures. Each student will receive hands-on experience working with a desktop training kiosk equipped with a GTN 750, GTN 650 and G600 glass flight display.

Training topics will include:

  • Creating and editing flight plans
  • Quickly accessing flight-critical information, including waypoint, fuel and trip planning data
  • Using the Direct-To and OBS functions
  • Creating User-defined Waypoints and Holds
  • Loading and performing departure, arrival and approach procedures
  • Selecting and viewing electronic aeronautical navigation products (charts)

These single-day courses cost $99 each and will be held Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, July 26-28, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn on the Oshkosh airfield. Lunch will be provided on the patio overlooking the airfield, and each participant will receive a free 3-month IFR premium subscription to the Garmin Pilot app ($25 value), as well as a $50 credit to be used towards future Garmin pilot training events. Class sizes are limited to 12 participants, so sign up today by visiting our website. For more information, call Garmin Aviation Product Support at (866) 739-5687 or email inquiries to aviation.training@garmin.com.
