Garmin Aviation Gains Altitude at Sun ‘n Fun and AERO
In the last several weeks, two major airshows have sent a number of us at Garmin on a worldwide tour promoting our products – Lucy included! In just one day, I found myself traveling via plane, train, automobile and ferry, just to get to AERO in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Needless to say, it has been a whirlwind of travel for many of us at Garmin and to go along with it, several announcements were made and even a few awards were received along the way!
Sun ‘n Fun was the debut of G3X Touch and we were very pleased with how well it 
was received! Based on feedback from our customers and the aircraft manufacturers that have selected G3X Touch, everyone is excited to order, install and fly behind G3X Touch. Team X and the entire engineering team behind the development of G3X Touch packed it full of features and capabilities – it’s no wonder there’s so much buzz! At the conclusion of Sun ‘n Fun, we were honored to find out that Garmin won the ‘Best Indoor Commercial Display’ award at the show. What a way to top off the week!
Many of us who went to Sun ‘n Fun spent a day or two at home before heading to AERO in Friedrichshafen, Germany. G3X Touch was a huge hit along with our new European FliteCharts, which were on display in our booth. Both VIRB Elite for Aviation and the Aviator Action Pack were also popular and flying off of the shelves at the show.
Adding to the excitement, Garmin received several product-related awards at AERO, including:
- Aerokurier Innovation Award 2014
- G2000 – “Product of the Future” in the avionics category
- Flieger Magazine Readers Choice Award 2014
- G500 – Winner for “Retrofit Glass Cockpit” of the year
- Flieger Magazine Readers Choice Award 2014
- D2 – Nominated for “Innovation of the Year”
The last two weeks have been packed full of exciting news from Garmin and the best part is, is that we have a lot more planned in the weeks, months, and years ahead! We wouldn’t have the opportunity to create exciting new products or receive thoughtful awards without our loyal customer base for which we are very grateful. So a big “thank you!” to all of the customers who came out to see us at Sun ‘n Fun and AERO – we appreciate your support and look forward to continuing to bring you more innovative products in the future!
