Garmin and Yamaha Outdoors at Gunsite
This week, we were lucky to be to attend a private session with Yamaha Outdoors at the legendary firearms training facility, Gunsite Academy. Located outside of Prescott, Ariz., we, along with about 20 writers, were able to navigate around the 2,000-acre grounds using the tactix ABC watch and capturing all the action with VIRB Elite action cams.
Ready to hit the road with the new Yamaha Grizzlies and Vikings, we explored the Gunsite grounds, and then headed to the shooting ranges for instructions on how to shoot handguns and automatic rifles safely and accurately.
After target practice with the instructors, we headed back out to the trails. We preloaded a route on the watch, with a series of camouflaged targets marked as waypoints that the writers had to find, then shoot, using the Yamaha ATV as cover, as if they were in a tactical situation. The writers had a great time navigating across the grounds, finding the targets, and capturing all the action on their VIRB Elite action cams.
