Garmin is proud to release our massive February 2016 Marine Software Update, which is now available to download for free here.

The latest update adds improved functionality and new features for echoMAP and echoMAP CHIRP chartplotter/sonar combos, GPSMAP 5×7, 7×1, 8×0, 10×0 chartplotters, GPSMAP 7400 and 7600 chartplotters, and GPSMAP 8000 and 8200 series chartplotters.

Garmin continues to produce “game-changing” products to help save you time on the water. We are also committed to evolve and improve existing Garmin products with new features that our users have asked for.

Here are some of the biggest features of our latest software update that we believe anglers will find most beneficial.

Quickdraw Contours:

We can’t say enough about how amazing Quickdraw Contours really is. Instantly improve existing maps or create your own. Read more here.

Multiple Depth Range Shading (now available with the preloaded LakeVü HD map or within our accessory LakeVü HD Ultra map):

You are now able to shade up to 10 depth ranges using various colors to help find ledges, drop-offs and target depths faster than ever before.  You will save valuable time putting your winning pattern together by spending less time searching and more time catching. This feature is now available with the preloaded LakeVü HD map in your echoMAP CHIRP or GPSMAP 7600 series unit.

Boundary Lines:

You can now create alarms for custom boundary lines, areas and circles. This is an awesome feature to help avoid costly penalties for tournament anglers who might have off-limits areas.

Auto Guidance 3.0 (Requires LakeVü HD Ultra or BlueChart g2 Vision HD):

We gave our patented Auto Guidance technology an overhaul this year by adding in the ability to assist you in navigating to nearly any destination on the water, including marinas, boat ramps, and your favorite waypoints.

3-way Vertical Split:

We added a 3-way vertical split combo option. This is especially helpful when you’re fishing deep and want to see traditional sonar and DownVü, while keeping an eye on the map so you can stay on your marked waypoint.
