Freshwater Fishing with Garmin quatix 3
With the rapidly growing popularity of smartwatches, we’ve decided to design the new and versatile quatix 3 specifically for on-the-water activities that freshwater anglers are sure to love. With all of the same great activity apps and fitness features found on the wildly popular fēnix 3, quatix 3 adds additional apps and integration into Garmin marine devices.
Here are just a few of our favorite things about quatix 3 while freshwater fishing:
View Important Data
Built off of the sleek, sophisticated, yet rugged design of the fēnix 3 Sapphire, quatix 3 adds bonus features such as integration with GPSMAP 74/76/84/8600 series chartplotters to stream water temperature, depth and boat speed data directly to your wrist. Use this to clear up real estate on your graph to view more sonar or map coverage.
If you frequent tidal fisheries, you’re also able to view the latest high/low tide times and tables directly from your watch. Having this data readily available can be the difference between winning and losing – or between making it back to the ramp and spending the night in the mud waiting for high tide to roll in.Go Fishing!
Never be late for another weigh-in. The “Fish” app has a built-in competition countdown timer, which will send you a reminder when it’s time to return to the ramp. It also allows you to set an interval timer if you like to be reminded of the time every so often.
The “Fish” app also includes a fish counter so you can keep track of how many fish you catch during your outing at the lake. If you and a buddy wager a bet on who can catch the most fish, this is a great way to figure out who’s really buying drinks at the end of the day.
Navigate
You can load routes and waypoints into quatix 3 smartwatch. GPS and GLONASS navigation on your wrist allows you to find a hot spot, mark the waypoint and navigate right back to that spot in the future. quatix 3 also automatically captures your track and, if needed, can guide you right back to your starting location.
So even if you don’t have a chartplotter on your boat, you can find your way around your favorite fishing spots. In addition, you can use Sight ‘N Go navigation. Pick a point in the distance you want to navigate to, set quatix 3, and it will keep you on course. This is especially helpful for kayakers and canoeists.
It also has a solar/lunar fishing and hunting calendar so you’ll know the optimum time to fish.
Remote Control Your Entertainment
This amazing watch even features remote capabilities so you can remotely control your Garmin VIRB X/XE action camera from anywhere onboard — right from your wrist. You can also control both the music from your phone and your VIRB XE action camera.
