Fitness photo frenzy, part 4

Quads1David is a member of Team MotionBased and has claimed some podium time at key races like NOVA and the NORBA circuit. Though he does both road and mountain biking, his passion is single speed cross country racing. That’s right—no granny gears to bail him out when the going gets tough. It’s all in the legs. David said he’ll likely top 1 million vertical feet this year. The built-in barometric altimeter on his Garmin Edge records his elevation data and more, which he downloads to MotionBased.com for analysis and his favorite feature, dot racing.

Back_of_van_road_shot_1David lives in Oakland, California, and has a job in finance. One advantage of his profession is that the market closes at 1, leaving him plenty of daylight hours on the bike. Other high-energy pursuits for David are snow skiing and mountain climbing.

David’s recent feats:
1st at NOVA Desert Classic, semi-pro
1st at Sea Otter Classic, cross country, 2005
2nd at Brian Head NORBA XC, semi-pro
3rd at national championships, single speed cross country, 2005
He’ll continue to ride for Team MotionBased and will ride part-time for a road bike team, the Berkeley Patient Group.
