Fishing My-Cast – take your fishing trips to the next level
Any fisherman will tell you that there are two key elements to a successful fishing trip: the weather and the fish activity - whether they're bitin' or not! With the help of Garmin's Fishing My-Cast app for Android, you can easily monitor both, which lets you focus more of your energy on reeling in the big one. Fishing My-Cast allows you to plan ahead with seven-day weather forecasts and gives you current conditions, including temperature, dew point, wind speed and direction, humidity, sky condition and fish activity (high, medium or low). If the weather looks dicey, Fishing My-Cast also lets you monitor nearby storms with high-resolution Doppler radar images centered on your location. Optional lightening and severe weather alerting is also available.
Once you're out on the water, use the Fishing My-Cast app to look at the fish activity calender which uses phases of the month along with sun and moon position to determine the best time to fish each day. Once you've found a hot spot, you can mark it as a waypoint and log and share your catch with pictures and details on techniques used, including, the lure type and color, bait type and retrieval info. The fish log is a great way to track your progress throughout the season and look for fishing patterns that work.
