Experience the ‘Power’ of Synthetic Vision With Garmin Pilot

My five-year old daughter is typically my co-pilot and she’s quite helpful, I might add! Garmin Pilot is her choice for backup navigation on an iPad (I have a feeling it may also have to do with her games residing othe same tablet) and my choice for charts, a moving map display, and now of course, synthetic vision (SVX)! Perhaps you have had the chance to fly behind Garmin Pilot’s latest addition to iOS this past weekend but if you haven’t, now is your chance!GP SVX3

Now through Friday, March 7th, Garmin will give you the opportunity to fly with synthetic vision for 30 days at no additional charge. Garmin is offering the VFR Premium upgrade package* (which includes synthetic vision, geo-referenced SafeTaxi, as well as terrain and obstacle alerting) to customers for 30 days, free of charge. At the end of the 30-day trial, you may elect to upgrade to the IFR or VFR Premium packages starting at $49.99 annually to continue to receive the benefits of synthetic vision and other great features.

To take advantage of this free trial, visit the iTunes store and simply download Garmin Pilot to your iPad or iPhone. Once Garmin Pilot is downloaded, launch the application and select ‘Home’ in the upper left corner. From the Home page, visit: ‘Settings,’ then ‘Subscriptions.’ On the right you may note a username, if not select ‘Create’ on the right side of the page. Here, you may create a username and password within Garmin Pilot.

Once a username has been created (or if you already have a username), e-mail that username to GarminPilotSVX@garmin.com and from there, we will do all of the work! Once we receive your Garmin Pilot username, we will apply a free, 30-day trial to your account, giving you access to synthetic vision and other great features. Within 24 hours, you’ll receive an e-mail from us confirming a license to VFR Premium (which includes synthetic vision, geo-referenced SafeTaxi, as well as obstacle and terrain alerting) has been applied to your subscription. The next time you launch Garmin Pilot, you’ll be able to experience SVX for free – it doesn’t get any easier than that!

We’re so excited about the recent addition of synthetic vision, as well as many of the other features we’re certain that once you fly with Garmin Pilot, you won’t want to fly without it. Take it from my five-year-old co-pilot: synthetic vision within Garmin Pilot is “power” at your fingertips!
