Dear John…
We received an update from John — the first winner of the “You Take Us There” contest. John used his Forerunner 305 in the San Diego Rock ‘n Roll marathon, and his GPSMAP 60CS helped him get around the city after the race. Congrats on a great race and for being the first winner of the Garmin Summer Contest!
Dear Garmin,
John from Folsom CA here. Firstly, thanks for selecting me as your first “You Take Us There” winner! I look forward to sporting my new Garmin t-shirt on upcoming adventures!
I just wanted to report how much I enjoyed my Forerunner 305 during the San Diego Rock ‘n Roll Marathon. I ran it with two old friends and, as “information officer” I was able to offer encouragement in the form of “mini-goals” during the event (“OK, we’re gonna hold a 9:45 pace for the next mile”…you get the idea!). And just like your own Team Garmin, my 305 showed 26.6 miles- how kind of the event organizers to give us a little extra! (Ambesse Tolossa’s winning time of 2:10 might have actually been closer to 2:08, which could shake up worldwide standings! Heck, I can probably knock 5 minutes off my finish time!).
By the way, I also made good use of my Garmin 60CS for navigating around San Diego- I’ve avoided a lot of navigational nightmares with that baby!
