Cyclists with an Edge
Back in December we profiled three Garmin Edge-equipped cyclists who appeared in some cycling ads for Garmin. All three have been putting in some serious mileage in prep for next week’s big Sea Otter Classic Bike Show at Leguna Seca Raceway. Olivier Bock (far left in photo) is currently training in—of all the places I’d love to be—Maui! Check out his MotionBased activity and weep. At SOC, Olivier will be racing in the pro category of the Super-D course as well as the semi-pro cross-country. David Yakaitis (yellow jersey) will be racing pro in the short-track time trial and will also be a serious contender in the cross-country race. Did you see the helmet cam videos posted last week? That was David doing the riding. Check out his recent MB activities. And then there’s Shane (Shadey) Deal (red jersey). Shadey’s been racing all over the world, competing in the marathon mountain bike nationals in New Zealand, where he snagged first place out of 1300 in the masters men category. Last weekend, he raced in the first round of the national series in Phoenix, Arizona and placed 10th overall in elite/pro. Next week at the Otter, Shadey will be racing semi-pro cross country and possibly the Super-D. Check his MB digest.
