Connect IQ: The Great American Eclipse App
Get the best view of the 2017 Great American Eclipse with your Garmin watch! A solar eclipse will happen across the entire continental United States on August 21, 2017. For those fortunate enough to be in certain locations, this solar eclipse will be a 100% total eclipse and will last over 2 minutes.
There’s a new app in the Connect IQ app store to help you plan your solar eclipse experience. The Great American Eclipse app will compute the level of totality at your current location, give you a countdown to the big event, and even show you where in the sky the sun will be at the time of the solar eclipse.
Based on your GPS location, this app will provide information regarding what type of solar eclipse will occur at your location, a countdown to when it will occur, and what percentage of the solar eclipse will be visible. This app will also tell you how far away from your current location you would need to travel to be in a 100% total eclipse zone.
The Connect IQ store is available on a wide range of Garmin products across all markets and each app, widget, watch face, and data field can be downloaded at no charge to the user. The Connect IQ Store can be found at apps.garmin.com or in the device tab of Garmin Connect. It can also be found in the device page of Garmin Express, or the More section of Garmin Connect Mobile.
