Chet’s Corner: AutoTune

featurechetscorner_1_4_2Editor’s note: yeah, yeah, we know that Chet normally shows his stuff on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  But with the Labor Day weekend and all, we’re having trouble keeping track of days.  Tuesday beat us down like a Monday, so today feels like Tuesday… hence, this special-engagement Wednesday Chet post.  Got it?

The new nüvi 660 features an integrated FM transmitter for playing mp3 files, voice prompts, and phone calls over your car stereo.  As with any FM transmitter, there is the struggle to find available FM frequencies that do not already have programming being played on them.  In the nüvi 660, there is a new feature called AutoTune that will search the FM radio waves to find an available frequency.  Once it finds one, it will then start broadcasting the signal on that frequency.  To access this feature, tap the Power button once to go to the “Quick Settings” page and select AutoTune.  Look for the nüvi 660 in stores next month!
