We’re excited to congratulate Cessna as they earned FAA type certification of the fastest civilian aircraft in the industry this week – the Citation X+. FAA certification paves the way for customer deliveries to begin. Furthermore, the Citation X+ features our touchscreen G5000 integrated flight deck, which offers pilots and customers the latest in avionics technology.

Three 14-inch high-resolution displays featuring Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT) offer flight crews flying the Citation X+, enhanced situational awareness by creating a three-dimensional picture of terrain, obstacles, traffic, water features and more. Four touchscreen control panels offer data entry and system control functions and allow pilots to customize the primary and multi-function displays so charts, weather, traffic and flight planning information can easily be displayed and tailored to each pilot’s preference.

The FAA recently validated the Mach 0.935 (536 knots) Maximum Limit Speed in November of 2013, officially making the Citation X+ the fastest civilian airplane. The new Citation X+ has a Maximum Cruise Speed of 527 knots and maximum operating altitude of 51,000 feet, enabling it to fly above adverse weather with ease. The X+ offers a larger cabin with an expanded range of 3,408 nautical miles and the option to carry up to twelve passengers.

We’re thrilled G5000 is a part of the record-breaking Citation X+ and once again, we offer our congratulations to Cessna on this exciting achievement!
