G5000 Flight Deck, Beechjet 400A

Here at Garmin we are excited to announce the G5000 Integrated Flight Deck took to the skies for the first time in the Beechjet 400A! This milestone is a significant step toward certification of the G5000 flight deck for the popular Beechjet 400A and Hawker 400XP aircraft.  Beechjet 400A

The 63-minute flight took place on Tuesday, September 16th at New Century AirCenter (KIXD) near Olathe, Kansas. The crew performed an initial checkout of the G5000 system and its flight instruments. During the flight, the crew also engaged and evaluated the autopilot and yaw damper, which performed as expected.

In addition to providing the Beechjet 400A and Hawker 400XP series with a comprehensive avionics upgrade path, the G5000 increases aircraft utility, offers additional weight savings and prepares the aircraft for future NextGen requirements set forth by the FAA. Three high-resolution 12-inch flight displays, along with two touchscreen controllers, serve as the primary crew interface to the system. Beechjet 400A Preflight2
Superior flight control technology available from Garmin’s integrated autopilot, works seamlessly with the G5000 system and greatly reduces pilot workload. Additional enhancements include Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT), Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) alert coloring, support for Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) compliance and Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM). The G5000 modernization program offers next generation avionics capability for existing Beechjet owners and operators, at a fraction of the cost associated with purchasing a new aircraft.

Congratulations to everyone who has worked toward this exciting milestone, which is a huge step in the certification process of the G5000 on the Beechjet 400A!
