For those itching for Spring and the hiking it brings, we’re here to help. Forget about the cold snowy weather and start thinking about what you’ll need when the warm weather comes. Backpacker Magazine has started posting gear video reviews on their blog. This is a great place to visit as you try and decide what gear to take on your next trek. They’ve posted a smorgasbord of how to’s and favorite gadgets, including the StreetPilot c550 and GPSMAP 76CSx. They even tell you how to orient a compass. Yeah, we know a compass is a “classic” that you might not carry if you have a GPS, but their video is a great refresher for those of you who haven’t yet purchased a Garmin with an electronic compass or who still carry a compass as a backup.
