Artwork, startups and scavenger hunts: Garmin connects with community

Nuvinart1aEver since David  was
young he always enjoyed building things like Legos, Lincoln Logs and model
kits, wishing it would be something he would do in the future as a job.
Little did he realize that his dream would come true by working in Garmin’s
Industrial Design Studio building prototype models. He will be presenting a
showcase of images and sample models, such as those pictured here, that conveys his passion for working at
Garmin.

The next day, we're excited to take part in another Scavenger Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kemper Museum. Clues, questions, and charts point children and adults in the right direction as they navigate through the exhibition The Map as Art, presented by Garmin. Young geographers who find their way can continue
exploring with a special prize provided by Garmin, while supplies last.
Scavenger Saturdays
take place on the third Saturday of each month.

And for those who want to check out "The Map As Art" whenever you're in town, it runs through April. Here are more details: Inspired by the best-selling book The Map as Art,
this exhibition presents artworks that explore issues of
mapping—whether conceptually or quite literally—while also examining the
personal gesture involved in large-scale works. The exhibition features
works by Ingrid Calame, Nathan Carter, Tiffany Chung, Joyce Kozloff,
Lordy Rodriguez, Robert Walden, and Heidi Whitman.
