Ambassador Stories: Kyle Warner Wins North American Enduro Tour Season Championship

Another season in the books, another year full of struggles and hard work, and yet another year of complete satisfaction. Just recently the final round of the 2016 NAET series took place in Mexico and ambassador Kyle Warner brought home his 3rd consecutive NAET title. Here’s Kyle describing the adventure and maybe his most exciting competition to date.

“Going into the last race I had a substantial lead in the overall points so I decided to try to put together a little bit of a special bike/kit with the help of all you guys. The bike was American flag themed, and the kit was a matching red/blue. I was really proud of how it turned out and even though there was a lot of political turmoil surrounding the race it seemed like the Mexican people thought it was really cool and were very supportive.

The trails in Mascota were amazing, 6 stages and every single one was technically and physically challenging. I felt like the organizers and volunteers did an amazing job and put together one of the most complete races I have ever ridden. The locals came out in full force to support the race and their local heroes, which was really awesome to see, plus they got to ride with all of the Mexican racers, which I’m sure was a real treat.

When all was said and done, I was able to grab a third place finish for the weekend and wrap up my third straight NAET overall title. This one was very different than the last two and after all of the struggles I went though earlier on this season, it was a huge relief to stand on top of the podium again.

For now I am taking a few days to decompress after the long season, but I have some big and exciting changes taking place this winter and I can’t wait to start working towards them next year. I am in the best place I think I’ve ever been mentally and I have some big goals in mind, on and off the bike, for 2017. Thanks again for all of your support. I really appreciate everything.”

Kyle also uses his Garmin VIRB at almost every race and the action camera really helps him learn the course with the ability to review the footage alongside course maps and elevation profiles. The VIRB has become an indispensable tool in his training arsenal and Kyle absolutely recommends the action camera for beginner riders out there.
