Iron Cowboy

A full ironman consists of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride and a 26.2-mile run. James Lawrence, better known as Iron Cowboy, will attempt to complete 50 full ironman courses in 50 days starting on June 6, 2015. If that wasn’t difficult enough, each ironman will take place in a different state. Sounds like he’s trying to accomplish the impossible, right?

Iron Cowboy is used to hearing that. He’s the Guinness World Record holder for completing 22 half ironman 70.3 races in 30 weeks and completing 30 full ironman 140.6 races in one year. His isn’t only trying to push himself beyond the perceived limits of the human body. He attempts amazing feats like this because he has children and wants to set an example for them and other children. Anything is possible.

Iron Cowboy will be tracking his progress with multiple Garmin products throughout his trek across the country. Here’s a look at the route he’s taking:

The challenge kicks off in Hawaii on Saturday, June 6, 2015. Make sure you follow Garmin Fitness and Iron Cowboy on social media for updates and wish him luck. In addition to chronicling his progress on social media, we will be posting blogs after every 15th ironman so make sure you check back often!
